Sorry I haven’t been posting more often, I’m trying to come up with new ideas for you guys! If you want me to write about anything specific, leave me a note in the comments below!

These are a few things I’ve picked up recently. So many things are on SUPER SALE, which I why I had to share it it you!

1- Joe Fresh Haul
OMG I love the sales at Joe at the end of each season. I’ve picked up so many great pieces at ridiculously low prices. I encourage you to check out your local store (or shop online, but beware, everything on clearance is final sale) and look through the sale racks, you’re sure to find some awesome stuff. I picked up the SOFTEST boyfriend plaid shirt (go one size up), the coziest turtleneck (I also sized up on this one) and the cutest après-ski shirt (should have sized up!). I also got a pair of black booties for $29, ridiculous.

2- Drugstore Haul
I am so happy that brands like L’Oreal and Maybelline are making products that can compete with high-end brands. I picked up a few essentials, including the new BB Cushion Foundation from L’Oreal, which, so far, is a great option when I don’t want or need full coverage. This NYX lip primer has been amazing at preventing my lipstick from bleeding (anyone else have this problem?) and I picked up a darker colour of my favourite concealer which I will use to contour!

3-Winners Finds
I have some fun trips planned to warmer destinations, so I was very happy to see that Winners is stocked with great swimwear right now (they also got big shipments of Nike golf clothes, if anyone is interested!). I picked up this great one-piece from BCBG for under $40. Is it just me or are one-pieces making a huge comeback? I’m not complaining!

4- The perfect chambray shirt?
I’ve seen this top on so many people now and I NEED ONE IN MY LIFE. But I really want to find the perfect one, that’s the right length and super soft, and not too wrinkly….Is that too much to ask? These are my top 3 contenders right now, from Old Navy, J.Crew and Nordstrom.

Happy shopping!

Best of Beauty 2015

Best of Beauty 2015

Before we completely forget about 2015, I wanted to do a quick round-up of my favourite beauty products from the past 12 months. I’ve discovered some great new brands, realized how amazing drugstore makeup is, and did a lot of testing to find the best products on the market right now.

Here we go!
(click on the product names for more info)

1- Best Liquid Foundation
After spending $60+ every 3 months, I needed to find something more affordable. I’m on my second bottle of L’Oreal True Match Lumi (my colour is N5) and I’m never going back to expensive foundations. This is my one true love.

2- Best Concealer
Another drugstore favourite! After reading how this foundation is a dupe for the pricey Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, there is no doubt in my mind that the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is the best you can get. I have two shades, one that matches my skin tone (20 Sand) and one that is much lighter (10 Light) that I use for highlighting and brightening under my eyes.

3- Best Bronzer
I have two favourites, because I’m so tan in the summer and so ridiculously white in the winter. In the summer, Nars Casino is AMAZING (pricey, but amazing). In the winter, I am really liking Milani Baked Bronzer in the shade Soleil.

4-Best Highlighter
My favourite shade (Champagne Pop) is sold out, but Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector offers 6 other beautiful shades that go with any skin tone. This is one of my favourite beauty products of ALL TIME. It’s a game changer.

5- Best Blush
I really like the inexpensive Sephora blushes, but when I got my hands on Milani’s Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso, I fell in love. What an incredible colour! It’s often out of stock, but worth the wait.

6- Best Mascara
This one is a no brainer. L’Oreal Telescopic. Drop the mic.

7- Best Eyeliner
I haven’t tried many eyeliners, but that’s because I’ve been using Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in the colour Trooper for years and it’s never failed me once.

8- Best Lipstick
I just got a sample of Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss Lipstick (in the shade Lolita) and it’s the first lipstick I’ve tried in a long time that actually stays on. I don’t often wear lipstick, but when I do, this is the perfect shade.

9- Best Lipgloss
Another product I’ve been using for years: Buxom Full-Bodied Lip Gloss. This stuff is good, and it tingles when you put it on and plumps your lips. I am a huge fan of this baby.

10-Best Beauty Product of all time?
My go-to, can’t live without, worth every penny product is….The Beauty Blender. This little baby changes the way you put on your makeup. It gives your skin the most flawless finish, which is really all we should aspire for when it comes to makeup application! If you haven’t tried it yet, YOU MUST. And don’t cheap out and go for another brand, you must try this specific one.

I hope you enjoyed my 2015 beauty round-up! Leave me a question in the comments below if you want to know about any other of my favourite products (hair, nails, etc).

Happy New Year!

My favourite drugstore purchases this month!

My favourite drugstore purchases this month!

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good shopping spree at Sephora, but my credit card (and my husband) don’t feel the same way! So I often end up at my local drugstore and have found some great products lately that I want to share with you!

FitMe_ConcealerAndWand_10Light_Pack1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This is by far my favourite concealer. I’ve heard so many great things about it, so many beauty bloggers have compared it to the equally popular NARS Radiant Creamy concealer, but at such a lower price point, it’s a no brainer!

7c16150c875f4e0eeaeccb1af1bc449b_ra,w403,h403_pa,w403,h4032. Designer Band-Aids
Yup, this is kinda silly and maybe some of you don’t need cute colourful bandaids, but I do, and I love these Isaac Mizrahi bandages! They also have Cynthia Rowley at my local store, which are equally adorable!

3. Maybelline Eye Shadow Palettes – The Blushed Nudes
Blushed-Nudes_pack-shotI’m really on a Maybelline kick this month! But with good reason, they have so many great products (I only wear Maybelline mascara, have been for over 10 years now!) I just picked up this beautiful palette for under $20. The pigmentation is good, they are not too shimmery, so perfect for daytime and I have used every single colour, which doesn’t happen often with a palette!

4. Baby Lips Lip Balmbaby-lips_pack-shot-crop_Quenched
These are definitely a cult favourite, and I love that they have some with SPF 20 (a lifesaver for summer at the cottage!)

b5a140b4f2cb6b5bbfc8f4e1c692f8a2_ra,w403,h403_pa,w403,h4035. Gillette Venue Spa Breeze Razor
I discovered this razor last summer and I love that it has built-in shave bars, so you don’t need to use any lotion or cream to shave. Such a time-saver, and the perfect travel razor! I definitely recommend these!

Product Review: My new everyday mascara!

Product Review: My new everyday mascara!

Today I wanted to share my latest beauty find (and not to worry, it’s under $10!).

I recently wrote about my favorite beauty products here, and about my two favorite mascaras that I use together to create a bold dramatic look. I will keep on using them for my evening looks but I decided to find a single great mascara to use for daytime wear. And before you read my review, please keep in mind that I was blessed with long lashes, so this is a great product for me, but I’d love to hear from you short-lashed girls and see if it’s as good for you too!

Maybelline just released Lash Sensational Mascara and I did not hesitate to give it a try! What I love about this mascara is that its curved brush reaches all my lashes, even the tiny ones in the inner corner. I have not had one clump when applying this mascara (and I give it two coats for a thicker look), and it really does separate and “fan” out the lashes for a beautiful natural, but still dramatic, look. I always wear black mascara (the darker the better!), but I do have dark eyes and eyebrows, so that works well for me, but it does come in several shades including a dark brown which I know some people swear by.

So all that to say that if you are looking for a new everyday mascara that won’t break the bank, I encourage you to give Lash Sensational a try and let me know what you think!

Happy Monday!
