How do you wash your face? I am a loyal user of Purity Facial Cleanser (it’s honestly the best out there) and I when I’m lazy I use face wipes (my favourite are from Costco!), but for the past few months, I’ve completely changed the way I wash my face.
Have you heard of Micellar Water? I hadn’t either. But it’s a game-changer. You put some on a cotton pad and it removes all makeup, oils, and dirt from your face, and there’s no rinsing after. So quick and easy and my skin feels uber clean after I use it! In the morning, I do another quick swipe and then start my makeup routine.
The Garner Skin Active Micellar Water is my favourite so far, but I also like the Bioderma because you can buy a small bottle for travelling. I don’t think you need to spend a lot to get good micellar water either, I think the Garnier one is under $15 and lasts for a good while.
Give it a try, I think you’ll love it!
With summer in full swing, and a baby on the way, I decided to cut back my beauty routine and use less products, but still achieve a flawless makeup look. I’ve discovered new products, and gone back to tried-but-true favourites, and now I can get ready in 5 minutes and be out the door.
Before I get into my daytime routine, I did finally choose a night cream, after testing out many different ones. This is affordable, will last a long time, smells amazing, and my skin has never felt or looked better.
As for my daytime look, I’m down to 8 products, which is not too bad considering I was easily using 12-15 before (I blame it on my obsession with makeup). The BB cream from YSL is a game-changer, it’s by far my favourite new product, so if you’re looking for a replacement for your foundation, with a nice amount of coverage, this is the one to buy. I also love my tinted eyebrow gel, it darkens and fills in my brows without having to spend 10 minutes with my eyebrow pencil. And finally, the finishing powder from Hourglass is the only thing that controls my shine in the summer, so I love it. The full-size version is a tad expensive, but you can pick up the travel size for under $30 and give it a try. It sets your makeup and gives you a beautiful finish all day long.
Leave me a note in the comments below with your favourite product right now. I’m always looking for new things to try!
Well, it’s not actually a night cream, it’s a night mask. But don’t let that scare you off, it’s the type of mask that you don’t have to wash off. It absorbs into your skin very quickly and is incredibly hydrating.
The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is definitely my favourite new beauty product. I discovered this brand at Sephora a few months ago and am so impressed with the quality of the products and the reasonable prices. You actually only use this mask 2-3 times a week, so for someone like me that always forgets to apply night cream, it’s the perfect solution!
If you want to give this mask a try without committing to the large container, you can purchase this trial size for only $8, and it comes with a second great mask!
If you’re a VIB or VIBROUGE member at Sephora, you save an extra 15% off your purchase until April 13th (promo codes can be found here)
I’ll be back tomorrow with another favourite!
I know, I know, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve blogged! I blame it on a 10-day vacation in the sun, where I decided to be very lazy and not do much of anything.
But I’m back, and I am giving you 5 days in a row of blog posts! They will be short and sweet, but each day, I will share with you a favourite item that I’ve either purchased recently or have loved forever.
Today’s item is my favourite lipstick. It’s actually a liquid lipstick and the reason I love it so much is it ACTUALLY lasts all day. I know, hard to believe, but this will not budge when you eat, drink, talk, etc. I suggest priming your entire lip with a nude lip liner, the colour seems to go on better and last longer when you do that.
Do yourselves a favour a pick up the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. You can get it at Shoppers Drug Mart or Rexall for about $10. My favourite 3 colours are SOFT SPOKEN, TEA & COOKIES and SANDSTORM.
Disclaimer: this has a bit of a matte finish, and you might find it a tad drying (not as much as other matte lipsticks), but I just put a bit of gloss on top and it’s perfect.
See you tomorrow with my favourite sweater for spring/summer!
