It’s been a while since my last outfit post, and I have a very good reason for it: At the beginning of March I usually start hating all my winter clothes. I’m sure you feel that way too towards the end of a season. You’ve just worn everything so much and you’re so anxious for the change in weather that you stand in front of a full closet and think you have nothing to wear!
So now that Spring is here, I am excited to start putting outfits together again! I wanted to start with an outfit that showcases some of my unofficial rules for dressing in between seasons. It’s too warm for wool sweaters and winter coats, but too cold for sandals and shorts. So take a look at this week’s outfit and my tips for dressing appropriately for this weather!
Navy Blue is the perfect colour to start wearing after months and months of black! It’s a bit brighter but very flattering if you’re still working off that winter weight 😉 Another rule I have is that I’ll wear bare legs once it’s warmer out, but never open-toe shoes if there’s still snow on the ground, that’s a big no-no for me. And layering is huge for this weather. I put away my winter coat a while back, but I’ll usually throw on a blazer and then a trench coat with a scarf and I’m all set. Try incorporating brighter accesories in your spring wardrobe (like these orange flats and the cream clutch) ; I think pastels are also very appropriate for this time of year and a great way to start dressing for warmer weather!
Happy shopping! And check back tomorrow, I’ll be posting some tips on organizing your closet and making the switch from your winter to summer wardrobe!
