To my fellow Ottawa shoppers: I’m sure you’ve heard rumours or seen signs about stores that are opening in the next couple of months. Isn’t it exciting! I feel like our little city is finally becoming a great fashion destination and attracting great retailers!
Here is my list of the most exciting store openings this year!
1- Nordstrom (March 2015)
This is by far the most exciting news in retail. This department store is a real game changer for Ottawa. It’s definitely going to be my go-to for both high and low fashion and beauty. On top of offering great brands that will be new to our city, their complimentary in-store personal stylists are a great way to shop for an outfit for a special occasion, or if you need help with a whole new wardrobe! If you’re looking for me, I’ll be at their EBAR, enjoying an espresso or a smoothie after my afternoon of shopping!
On top of their sold-out opening gala (I hope you got your tickets before they were all gone!), you don’t want to miss their pre-opening beauty bash (details here!). I hope to see you there!
2- Tiffany & Co (August 2015)
After hearing that Holt Renfrew closed its door in Ottawa, my first thought was that we were losing the only Tiffany counter in the city. Thankfully, that sadness was short lived when I found out that this high-end retailer was opening a stand-alone store in the Rideau Centre later this year! There are no words to express how wonderful this is, I’m sure you agree!
3. Kate Spade (June 2015)
If you’ve seen my What I Wore posts, you know that I love Kate Spade. The bows, the pastel colours, the cheeky messages on their bags, it’s definitely one of my favourite designers. And wait until you see their stores, it’s like walking into a candy shop; everything is colour-coordinated and beautifully displayed. I think this is a great addition to the city, and just another reason to visit the Rideau Centre!
4. White House Black Market (Spring 2015)
This new addition to Bayshore Shopping Centre is going to be a great spot to stock up on classic pieces for work as well as great dresses for date night! The price points are very reasonable and true to its name, you’ll find a lot of black and white in the store! My first purchase will probably be this beautiful sheath dress, which I will pair with a black leather blazer and sky high heels!
5. Stuart Weitzman (October 2015)
Another very exciting addition to the Rideau Centre! This high-end designer is bringing its exquisite selection of footwear to the city, so get ready to elevate your shoe game! This is your chance to get this sandal, seen on pretty much every celebrity on the red carpet or my personal favourite, the classic pump.
So there you have it, 5 more great reasons to go shopping in Ottawa!
